Director of Nursing- Full Time

Director of Nursing

Position Title: Director of Nursing

Reports to: Administrator

Positions Supervised: Health Care Center Staff, Assisted Living Staff, and Clinic Staff

Objective

Direct, plan, organize and develop the overall nursing care functions of Worthington Christian Village in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local regulations. Work with Administrator, and Medical Director to ensure that the highest quality of care is maintained at all times.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse, and a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Must possess and maintain a nursing license in good standing with the state of Ohio.
  • Must be able to work without restriction.

Demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Must be organized
  • Must make independent decisions.
  • Must interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as Federal and State regulations.
  • Must demonstrate leadership and consistency.
  • Must “get hands dirty” and be part of the team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Staffing

  • Hire qualified staff
  • Ensure adequate staff, meeting resident’s needs 24/7/365
  • Oversee scheduling of staff
  • Ensure appropriate number of staff members are scheduled in accordance with Federal/State regulations, including and not limited to Registered Nurses
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations

Service to Residents

  • Ensure the delivery of excellent care and services as well as ensure excellent customer satisfaction
  • Oversee professional standards and ensures staff provides good quality of life and dignity to each resident/patient
  • Oversee the delivery of physician services
  • Work with Administrator assessing effectiveness of pharmacy and lab services
  • Oversee the special needs of residents, implementing appropriate policies and procedures for resident care (i.e. ostomies, IV’s, etc.)
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations

Regulation Compliance

  • Assist Administrator with overall regulation.
  • Oversee and develop policies and procedures for the use of physical and chemical restraints. WCV goal is to have zero in each category
  • Oversee and develop policies and procedures preventing pressure sores. WCV goal is to have zero in house acquired pressure sores
  • Oversee and develop policies and procedures related to infection control
  • Oversee and develop policies and procedures related to WCV Quality Assurance program. Must lead quarterly QA meetings and work with staff to develop appropriate reports
  • Oversee and develop policies and procedures related to drug storage and labeling, as well as disposal
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations

Administrative Functions

Perform various HR functions including and not limited to the following:

  • Payroll items
  • Provide adequate counseling, coaching and discipline as needed to supervise staff members , including terminations when appropriate
  • Develop and oversee departmental orientation for new employees
  • Annual performance evaluations
  • Develop and update job descriptions
  • Assist with various WCV committee functions as requested
  • Develop an on call schedule and participate with on call responsibilities including weekend management
  • Monitor various vendor bills for accuracy including pharmacy, resident supplies and others as assigned by Administrator
  • Recommend solutions to problems faced by the Health Care Center, it’s staff, and residents
  • Track hospital readmissions and provide adequate information to Medical Director
  • Stand in for Administrator when required
  • Assist in the overall management of WCV Assisted Living and WCV Independent Living Clinic
  • All other duties as assigned

Cook- Part Time

Our dietary department is looking for a part time cook. The ideal candidate for this positions will have excellent customer service skills, be outgoing, interact well with our senior residents, and be dependable for every other weekend and some holidays. Some of the responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

-Preparing all menu items according to recipes and production sheets.

-Provide all required menu items for Main dining room. Assisted Living dining room, and Healthcare Center dining room.

-Help maintain accurate temperatures of all food items and record them in the food log.

-Prepare and plate dining room dinner.

RN or LPN- Full Time

Our community is looking for a full time 2nd Shift RN or LPN to join our team. The successful candidate for this position will have a current nursing license in good standing in the State of Ohio. RN or LPN- Part Time

Our community is looking for a part time 1st Shift RN or LPN to join our team. The successful candidate for this position will have a current nursing license in good standing in the State of Ohio. STNA — Full Time

Our Healthcare Center is currently looking for a caring, kind and devoted individual to join our team! We are currently looking for a full time 2nd shift STNA. The individual must be able to work weekends and holiday hours. State Tested Nursing Assistant certification is required. Nursing school students encouraged to apply. Contact humanresources@wcv.org

Server- Part Time/Full Time

Currently our Dietary department is looking for full and part time Dining Room Servers The ideal candidates for these position will have excellent customer service skills, be outgoing, and interact well with our seniors residents. Some the of duties and responsibilities are listed below.

– Assist residents and guest with seating and selection of menu items

– Great Customer Service.

– Side work in between dining hours.

– Bus dishes as necessary.

Must be available to work a flexible schedule, weekends, and holidays.

Nursing Assistant- Part Time

Our Assisted Living department is currently looking for a part time, 1st and 2nd shift nursing assistant to join our team. Some of the job duties and requirements may include but are not limited to:

-Assist residents with their activities of daily living.
-Change bed linens and make beds.
-Assist with resident transfers.
-Assist residents with their meal selections and record meal intakes accurately.
-Prepares residents for activities, doctor’s appointments, and going out of the building, etc.
-Answer call lights promptly.
-Must be able to lift without restrictions.
-Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.

The ideal candidate will be caring, kind, and a devoted individual who has a desire to work with the elderly. Must be able to work some weekends and holiday hours.

 Contingent Nursing Assistant

Our Assisted Living department is currently looking for contingent nursing assistants to join our team. Some of the job duties and requirements may include but are not limited to:
